Where have you been?

I know, I know, it's been forever since you heard from us and a while since Will has been almost attacked by birds. On that topic, while driving to Lubbock a couple of weeks ago, a vulture almost hit our car! And those are huge birds that would have put a pretty good dent in the car! Luckily, we managed to swerve pretty quickly just in time. I don't know what the deal is with birds either.

As of today we are 33 weeks! So much has changed since the last post. I am currently going to the doctor every two weeks and each visit has gone well. The last two times I didn't even have to pay for parking! Parking is $1.00 after 30 minutes and increases by one dollar every extra hour. Pretty ridiculous, I know. Basically, each visit I have my blood pressure checked (Will is amazed by how low my blood pressure is), my weight (which goes up each time, ugh), I talk with my doctor about anything new that has come up or that I am concerned with, my doctor measures my belly and we listen to Atti's heartbeat. His heartbeat is pretty strong (it sounds like horses galloping), and my belly measures on target each visit. I have actually stayed on top of my weight, minus one week where I gained four pounds instead of two. Surprisingly enough, I only gained two pounds right after the shower in Lubbock! Because of the increased frequency of my visits, Will has not been to a doctor visit for a while. I see the doctor again next Wednesday, then two weeks after that we are going to do our final (aah!) sonogram and Will is going to be there for that.

Now things are getting real. Like we're having an actual baby real. At the beginning, it hits you and everything, but that due date seems like a lifetime away. These days we are in the single digit for weeks and we've put together his room, have had baby showers where we get things like clothes, and it has really just hit me. Before we know it, there is going to be a tiny person who actually sleeps in the crib and wears all of those tiny clothes. Our official due date is November 30th, but Will and I have our fingers crossed for 11/11/11. If everything is going well, that could be a real possibility. Everyone has been asking if we're ready. I'm not entirely sure what kind of question that is. Is anyone ever really ready to be a parent? I'm kind of ready to not be pregnant, as every day things are starting to become a struggle and this belly is starting to get out of control.

Will and I have completed our first childbirth class. Now Will is feeling the pressure too. Hopefully, our next (and final) birth class won't have us watching tons of birth movies, because, come on. You can only watch those for so many times before not wanting to ever have kids. The class is actually pretty good. My favorite part has been the massaging techniques that Will has been learning, haha!

Other than baby stuff, we have been doing pretty good. Will is still riding his bike to work and still enjoys it. I have been getting things ready for the arrival of our little guy and getting as much rest as I can before he gets here! We have had something every Saturday of this month and the next three Saturdays are booked as well! We have also been going out as much as possible while it's just the two of us and it's easy for us to get up and go. I am going to try to keep up with the blog thing a little better, but it might take a while to figure out the whole baby thing. We will keep you posted about the arrival of Mr. Atticus! Hope you're doing well!
