Updates

Can you believe I'm already writing another blog so soon? Me neither! I thought I'd write a new blog and update you on what's been going on. It seems like there's always something going on.

New haircut
I've had the hardest time finding a good salon/hairstylist here in SA. I finally found one and then she left the salon to do hair from her home over by Lackland AFB. That is a bit more driving than I want to do just for a haircut, discounted or not. I've been to the Aveda Institute at the Pearl Brewery, but those are students and they don't stick around for very long before graduating and moving on. Plus, the last time I got my hair cut there, the girl asked another girl, "so how do you cut curly hair?" and had no idea what products to use, so I left with a terrible hair cut and a head full of products. That scarred me for life. Last month I tried a new salon and hairstylist and went back yesterday and now I'm in love. I now go to Alta Moda Salon http://www.altamodasalons.com and have a stylist I really, really like. I go to the new location at The Rim. They have this great Paul Mitchell soap that smells like peppermint! I went and got my last haircut before Atti comes and love it. Will says it looks like Angelina Jolie in the movie Changeling (minus the bangs), which I think is a good thing.

Childbirth Class
The last two weekends Will and I have been getting up early to attend Childbirth Class at St. Luke's, where we will be delivering. We have learned a lot and graduated last Saturday! More than likely we will forget everything from class when it's actually time, but I definitely think we're more prepared now versus if we didn't take the class.

Doctor Visit
At the beginning, I went to the doctor once every month. Then that became every two weeks. Now I am going every week. Yeah. I went in Wednesday morning for my 34 week check up and everything was good. My weight, Atti's measurement and heartbeat are all on target and looking good. While talking, my doctor informs me that I will now be coming in every week and talking about possible inducing and it kind of freaked me out, lol. I go back on Thursday for the last sonogram and Will is coming too! It's weird, I keep hearing the word last everywhere.

Maternity Pictures
While in town for the Lubbock shower, Will and I stopped by campus to take some maternity pictures with a friend from high school who has started her own photography business. Here is a sneak peek!

The cat's in the cradle
So we set up the crib, put clean sheets down, and added a side table. That side table has made for easy access for the two creatures that occupy our house. Mostly, it has been Hedwig we keep finding in the crib, sometimes under the comforter and sometimes on top of the comforter. Yesterday, I couldn't find Sammy. He wasn't in any of his usual spots. Guess where I found him -- that's right, in Atti's crib. It's hard to get mad at them when they look so sweet and cozy. Don't worry, I'll wash the sheets before Atti sleeps here. This also means we definitely have to shut out the babies when our human baby is sleeping there.

Happy Friday!
