Day 41
About two months ago, I signed up to be the second grade representative for Differentiated Instruction (DI) School. It was on the Monday after school was over for the summer. DI School was held at Brandeis High School, a comprehensive high school in Northside. The keynote speaker was Ray McNulty, a former teacher, vice principal, principal, superintendent, and education commissioner in Vermont. He was born in Boston, so he had that great Boston accent. His presentation lasted two hours, but it was so good! After the keynote speaker, I had three second grade sessions including DI menus, money up to $1.00, and A year in the life of the pilgrims for social studies. I definitely plan on using some of the things I learned in my classroom in the fall. I was also really impressed with Brandeis HS, it had plenty of parking, lots of benches to sit, and it was just a huge building!
Check out more information about Ray McNulty here.
