Lemi Shine, the Hard Water Expert!

Lately, we'd been noticing that our glassware and dinnerware was looking somewhat less shiny than it did when we bought it.  Actually, it was looking horrible.  We were driving ourselves crazy thinking that it was our dishwasher going bad or the type of dish soap we were using, but it turns out that it's probably the San Antonio water.  Word on the street is that it's incredibly hard water.

After some browsing on the 'net, I came across the bright idea of putting CLR into the dishwasher with the affected dishes.  Let me just say that I do not recommend this.  Perhaps I used too much, but the dishes came out as cloudy as ever and, what's worse, they smelled like CLR.  "Yes, I think I'll have my dinner with a light seasoning of caustic chemicals."  I ended up washing the entire contents of the dishwasher by hand.  The dishes did look better in the end, but the CLR smell has not completely subsided.

After more browsing, I came across what I should have tried first: Lemi Shine, by Envirocon Technologies, Inc.
We found it easily at HEB.  When I opened it, Linda was making fun of me because I could not stop smelling it but after a whiff she figured out why.  Seriously, it smells like it would taste awesome but I doubt this is the case.  It worked brilliantly to clear up the rest of our dishes and I believe has even helped clean the dishwasher a bit.  Let me just say that yes, I wholeheartedly recommend Lemi Shine.  Now I only wish I could figure out how to pronounce it.
