Weekend Updates

We have been pretty busy lately and have neglected our blog. Here are some quick updates to keep you current. The weekend of the 12th through the 14th, my parents came to town. My parents love HEB and don't have one in Lubbock, so when they are here we go to HEB a couple of times (at the least). My mom called me to tell me they were already in town and had stopped for groceries before coming to the house. A few minutes later, Will called and said he was on his way home from work. I sat in the living room and waited to see who would arrive first. Will was first, and then I get a phone call from my mom who informed me that their engine is not starting and we need to get to the HEB parking lot. Will brought jumper cables and we stood in the humid heat of San Antonio while my parents retold the story to us. The weekend was great! We had awesome home cooked food from my parents, lots of beer and wine, and hanging out. I drove us to my new school so everyone could check it out via the courtyard. We went to La Cantera and ate lunch at Red Robin (yum). We watched Gran Torino and He's Just Not That Into You. It was a great and super fast weekend (as is always the case when family visits). Will and I will be in Lubbock in July for a wedding, and hopefully my parents will be back to watch Harry Potter (because Harry Potter won't be showing in Lubbock).

This past weekend, Will and I slept in and Saturday we went to Half Price books. Will has had a portion of our bedroom filled with old textbooks he took to sell. We had to stay in the bookstore while we waited for his books, and I of course found myself looking at the kids books. I bought 22 books for about $40. The most I paid for a book was $3. And then I found out that I get a 10% Teacher Discount! Because I wasn't given the discount this time around, I was given a $5 off card that I need to use by the 30th of June. I think I will make one more small trip there and then be done with books for school. Will has been working on the closet in the pumpkin room to prepare for Tyler and Dan's arrival later this summer. We have also been getting ready to start the P90X program. We spent over a month's budget worth of food yesterday and still have yet to purchase all of the food we are supposed to get! Not to mention how much we have spent on protein bars, exercise equipment, and the workout DVDs themselves. I really think it's not practical. We'll try the diet for this week and then I think we'll do something way more practical and affordable. We start tomorrow (after a few delays) and we have a new blog where we will write about the program. You can find it here: http://losdunnsp90x.blogspot.com/. For now it is empty, but probably later this week or next week we'll have an entry in there.

On a side note, Friday night we went to see the movie Up in 3D. It was so good! I highly recommend it! Maybe not the 3D part though, it made me a little cross-eyed.

Until next time!
