Spring Break!

It is officially spring break here! For some reason, spring break here is a week earlier than most districts. Friday, March 6th, Will and I drove to Lubbock after school and work for Alpha Phi Omega Beta Sigma's 70th Anniversary. We left San Antonio around 7pm. We arrived in Lubbock around 2am. It was a long drive with about 30 or so deer! Saturday afternoon we had lunch with the APO crowd at a park and man, was it a typical Lubbock day! The special seasoning in our food was dirt. It was kind of like, "welcome back to Lubbock! Here's the wind!" We ate, talked to some people, and then left. We hung out with my parents and watched "Spirited Away" before getting ready for the banquet. The banquet was held at the Lubbock Country Club. Luckily, we got some great seats with good people. The food was all right, and we didn't get dessert until the very end (around 11pm). The banquet was a good four hours! There were speakers from each decade of Beta Sigma. The first few decades were great, but I don't really think the speakers for the '90s and 2000s were necessary. It was great to see some APO people! Sunday we hung out and Will's parents came to have lunch with him. Sadly, we had to leave Monday morning. These trips are always so short! And it is really tough to go anywhere without spending a fortune with four cats. Hopefully after this summer we can go back to Lubbock for a longer visit. We finally got some rain here in San Antonio! Last night we had a thunderstorm and it was still raining pretty hard this morning! I am enjoying my week off, but of course those weeks off never last either!
