One Year Anniversary!

Yesterday was our one year wedding anniversary! We decided the night before to exchange gifts in the morning before Will left for work. I gave Will a fancy liquid ink pen with his name engraved on it. Will gave me some red low top Chuck Taylors!

Will called in the afternoon (we always talk in the afternoons), and asked if I could be ready by 5pm for our dinner date. It was about 4pm and after hanging up, I started getting ready. Will said he would call when he was on his way home (as usual). It was about 4:50pm and I was in our bathroom with Griffin trying to figure out which earrings to wear when Will calls. I answer the phone, and he says, "I think you should come to the front door." I open the front door, and there's Will standing outside with a dozen white roses and card with my name on it, and a big smile, of course. Will said he decided on white roses because our anniversary was on winter solstice (so was our wedding last year).

After exchanging cards, we took pictures before leaving for dinner.

It took us 45 minutes to get there, but we made it to the Tower of Americas for our dinner date!

The restaurant was beautiful! We had a table right by the windows to take some pictures of the city! While we were there, we had rotated a full 360 degrees. Every now and then on the beams in the restaurant, there would be directions so you knew which part of the city you were seeing. We got some really great pictures!

After dinner, we walked around the ground level and eventually made our way outside to take more pictures.

And we of course had to take our traditional picture before leaving.

We then went home to eat year old cake. I took the cake out Sunday morning and put it in the fridge. We didn't know if it would thaw all the way, so I left the cake sitting on the washer most of yesterday... and the frosting melted! Cutting the cake also was a huge mess, but it tasted good!

And the roses lasted pretty well!

We had a wonderful anniversary! I couldn't have imagined a better celebration!
