Hey! Yeah, so it has really been forever since we have written on here. What has occupied our time you ask? A very handsome baby! And a lack of sleep, feedings, tummy time, trying to get out of the house so we're not hermits, and etc. Here's some quick updates:
Atticus Murphy
Around 4am on November 18th, I woke up to contractions. At first I dismissed them for Braxton Hicks, but after having them for an hour, I thought maybe they were the real thing. Around 30.5 hours later, Atticus Murphy was born on November 19th at 11:42am! He surprised us all by arriving 11 days early!
Thanksgiving
The good thing about having a baby so close to the holidays is that everyone comes and cooks food for you and 10 other people! The downside of having a baby so close to the holidays is that everyone comes to your house at the same time and it's really overwhelming. Our first Thanksgiving as a trio didn't turn out as I had hoped, which is pretty sad, but I guess that happens.
Christmas & New Years
My family came for Christmas and we enjoyed lots of good food and hang out time. Atti was so excited about his first Christmas that he slept through the opening of presents. Will's parents came for New Years. The three of us brought in our first New Year together by going to bed early!
AMD 365
I am doing another 365, this time to document Mr. Murph. It has been a lot of fun watching how much he changes every day! It does take me longer to upload pictures, as free time is something I don't have a whole lot of these days. You can find the AMD 365 set on our flickr page.
Life with Atti Murph
Back in June, I made the decision to step away from teaching to stay at home with AMD. When Will and I started talking about having a family, this was always the plan. I just decided to take time off before he was born instead of waiting until next school year. I really think that taking the time off while I was still pregnant resulted in an easier, less stressful pregnancy. I also think this is a big reason for AMD's laid back personality. Being a stay at home mom is a lot of work! It is also kind of lonely. People ask me if I miss work or if I'm ready to go back to work, but I really don't miss it at all. I think staying at home will give me the time to figure out what I want to do next, when it is time to go back to work. I do know for sure that I will not go back to teaching.
And there you go! I will try and keep up with the blog as I have time to.
Hope you're doing well!
Linda
